Login changes for LINK Engage users

RSS
In relation to GDPR, LINK Mobility is working on securing your user data. To do this, we will have to change the way our users log in to LINK Engage.

The following will change
  • Users will have to change their username to their email address
  • Users will have to change their passwords
  • Users will log in to a new login page

Change username to email address

Because of GDPR, there is a requirement that all actions relating to customer data should have an audit trail. There must be a way to check who has accessed what data. Because of this, Our customers must have personal users instead of for example a common admin user that everyone uses.

The benefit from this is that we have implemented a password recovery system based on email, and it is easier to enable 2-factor authentication with SMS when logging in to LINK Enage. It is also much easier for LINK Engage users who are administrators to create new users. When creating new users, an email is specified instead of username and password, and an invitation is sent to the newly create user to register their new password, and with links to the new login page.

If you need more Engage users to comply with the GDPR requirement of audit trails, then that can easily be purchased inside LINK Engage by an administrator.

Users will have to change their passwords

We suggest that all passwords should be at a absolute minimum 8 characters long. A password with 13 characters or more is strongly suggested.

Users Will have to log in to a new login page

In a period of 30 days(01. october 2018), there will be a possibility for users to either log in through the new login page, or use the old one. The new login page will require a username (email), and your new password. The old login page will require your old username, your old password, and your engage domain,

After 30 days (01.october 2018), the old login page will be removed, and only login through the new login page will be possible.

Multiple Engage accounts

If you have access to multiple Engage accounts, the change will be that you log in through the new login page, and after you have logged in, you will receive an option to choose which Engage account you wish to use. So there is no more need to remember multiple passwords.
